Legislators and government employees are exempt from ERISA
Interesting to know that Legislators and government employees are exempt from the 'protection' offered by ERISA. This way they don't get to know what the private sector workers go through in an unfortunate case of disability. More info here
ERISA is the most absurd and unfair legislation because it protects the large insurance companies and goes against honest workers with legitimate disabilities. How can the the government award a person's disability status and, as in my case Hartford denies to pay my disability benefits? Hartford's long term disability plan is a scam. It's insane how the U.S. judicial system allows them to rip off thousands of honest workers who become disabled. Judge Smith's opinion went in favor of Hartford, I honestly believe he even didn't read my case. Just check Judge Smith's record on the internet to believe this.
